Job Description Engineering Intern – Part Time

We serve all sizes of commercial mechanical companies across the U.S. with end user clients that include many top Fortune 100 companies.

Projects include data centers, semiconductor and EV battery manufacturers, universities, health care facilities, and district energy systems. Position Overview

Our customers choose PurgeRite because of our unique ability to deliver turn-key flushing solutions for some of the most complex hydronic systems being deployed today. These internship positions work directly with the engineering team on projects and lab experiments. The work schedule will be adapted to fit the needs of the student - generally 8 to 24 hours per week at days and times as agreed between 7am and 6pm, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with multiple stakeholders such as sales, estimators, and engineers
  • Perform necessary calculations and prepare documentation
  • Research topics as assigned and report findings
  • Lab Intern:
  • Conduct debris flushing experiments following established test procedures
  • Accurately record experimental data
  • Prepare consolidated results and communicate to responsible engineer
  • P&ID Intern:
  • Process incoming customer Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID) and job specifications using BlueBeam Revu to
  • identify relevant sheets and merge multiple sheets into consolidated views
  • identify and markup relevant piping location and sizes and extract relevant specification sections
  • prepare input package for the sales estimation engineer

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all stakeholders from field technicians to senior management
  • A strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and dedication to meeting project timelines
  • P&ID Intern: Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering / Engineering Technology.
