Position Summary:
As a contributing team member of the Foodservice Poultry team, the Sales Account Manager will have regular interactions with the DOS, sales account executives and other sales managers and will be focused on managing base business and cultivating growth with a group of assigned customers.
The Sales Account Manager will be accountable for building relationships, selling in new items, negotiating contracts and prioritizing efforts to meet our annual operating plan. This position is expected to work cross functionally with various business units and trade teams to build new business, protect the core and create competitive advantages, while attaining mix and volume targets for the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and nurture professional relationships with assigned customers within the market to achieve business objectives. Gather and maintain key insight for all assigned accounts including: size of business, product opportunities, competitive set, timing of opportunities/RPFs/contracted businesses, and potential hurdles.
Track progress using the tools provided, including CRM and reporting status of opportunities and risks appropriately for cross functional teams. Work with Channel/Customer Development, Business Units, Revenue Management teams and other key cross functional stakeholders to deliver against sales plans through key activities such as customer presentations, leading customer events/shows/conferences, marketing programs, expense management, complaint resolution and deduction resolution.
