The Accounting Manager receives general guidance from the General Manager/President and performs management and complex accounting duties with a high level of independence and professional discretion in maintaining accountability for all accounting needs of Kalayaan, Inc. using Microsoft software programs ( Excel, Access, Outlook, Powerpoint and Word) and accounting Software (Quickbooks and Peachtree).
The Accounting Manager oversees, plans, organizes, and controls accounting and operational functions of Kalayaan Accounting Department using GAAP, GAAS, and company financial and accounting practices.
Perform strategic financial planning, and supervise accounting staff in annual budgeting, accounts payable, payroll, customer accounting, continuing property records, inventory, accounts receivable, cash management, cost analysis, billing, and general ledger and ensure timely reporting to Kalayaan, Inc.'s President.
Job Details:
a.) Supervise accounting staff and examine, analyze and review accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to determine records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other accounting activities within the organization in accordance with GAAP, GAAS and other regulatory requirements, procedural standards and financial internal controls.
b.) Review bank records of cash, checks, and voucher, daily bank deposits, petty cash fund and its replenishment. Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences. Review clients' ledgers and process billing for goods and service rendered.
c.) Maintain and analyze budgets, including analyze and provide report on business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations.
d.) Review submitted time sheets for proper accounting distribution and accuracy, employees payroll and Employers Withholding and Federal Tax Return.
e.) Review and file required monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filing for CNMI and federal government tax authorities.
f.) Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies as needed.
