Position – NDT Level II Technician (Northeast Area)

Job Description:
Velocity Maintenance Solutions is looking to hire a motivated NAS 410, Level II NDT Technician certified in PT, MT, ET, and UT. RT is a plus. We are an FAA MRO & approved Repair Station providing Mobile NDT inspections on corporate/private aircrafts. Applicants must be located or are currently relocating to the Northeast area and are willing to travel daily to jobsites around the Northeast.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct non-destructive testing inspections and evaluations using various NDT techniques, including PT, MT, ET, and UT.
  • Working from written procedures, specifications, and general instructions; perform non-destructive test inspections on a variety of aircraft airframe and engine parts.
  • Set up, calibrate, and monitor equipment and related probes, cables, and standards.
  • A good working knowledge of Company requirements associated with aircraft. maintenance and health & safety.
  • Good team working abilities.
  • Accurately complete all NDT inspections, work order, and paperwork.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Velocity work order system.
  • Adhere to Velocity Maintenance Solution’s policies and procedures, as well as manufacturer's NDT manuals and FAA regulations, to ensure compliance with assigned NDT work scope.
  • Provide detailed reports on work progression and open items to be included in the shift turnover log.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures.
Job Requirements
  • The ability to get and maintain an Airman Certificate.
  • The ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe.
  • Ability to understand and interpret aircraft technical data.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Strong teamwork abilities to achieve established goals.
  • Flexibility to work including nights, holidays, weekends, and days off.
Physical Requirements
  • Willingness to work on elevated platforms (up to 40 feet in the air) and using fall protection safety gear.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods while performing NDT.
  • Physical ability to perform climbing, stooping, stretching, walking, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 70 pounds.
  • Proficiency in operating basic hand tools and ground equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
Non-Physical Requirements
  • Aptitude for learning and utilizing technical manuals.
  • Strong mechanical skills and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting maintenance, NDT, and illustrated parts manuals.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to perform NDT effectively and quickly in short notice, high-pressure situations.
  • Competence in inputting and retrieving information from computers.
  • Experience with Microsoft products, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations, regardless of weather conditions, for NDT work.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal/no supervision.
Education and Experience
  • High school graduate/GED
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience as level II in the NDT field as a certified NAS 410 technician in PT, MT, ET & UT.
  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
