How you’ll make an impact (position summary):

As a Moderator, you will play an important role in creating a safe and engaging social environment for children. This position is focused on reading and moderating texts, artwork, and videos posted by children in our educational website community. While not educating students on core subjects, Moderators are a key component to the education of children, guiding students to develop social skills by encouraging them to be a part of the community positively and respectfully.

The Moderation department at Miaplaza operates in a fast-paced environment requiring team members to make decisive judgment calls, that align with the K-12 audience, throughout their day. Moderators typically handle up to 500 posts per hour. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are ready for this challenge, we encourage you to apply!

 

What you’ll do (responsibilities):

  • Monitor and review a high volume of student-generated content to ensure adherence to community guidelines.
  • Provide feedback and address concerns for our students to maintain a positive and welcoming environment.
  • Stay updated on trends and pop culture to understand and relate to the young audience.
  • Collaborate with the moderation management team and other Moderators to develop, implement, and improve content moderation policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in engaging training sessions on content moderation techniques and tools.

  • Ability to stay up-to-date with current trends to understand and relate to young audiences

  • Access to a computer/laptop (with camera) and reliable high-speed internet connection
  • Understanding of online safety and child protection principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle issues in user-generated content
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
