Seasonal Warehouse Worker – 1st Shift

Our only Distribution Center is located in Evansville, Indiana and ships shoes to nearly 400 stores and millions of customers nationwide! A key component of our success, has been the people that work in our Stores, Distribution Center and Corporate office. This job can be a stepping stone to career opportunities throughout Shoe Carnival.

 

 

As a Seasonal Temp — DC, you will be assigned to either Shipping/Receiving or Processing based on the business needs of the day. You will be required to work 8 hours shifts and must commit to at least 4 weeks out of the year and will not be scheduled more than 12 weeks. This position typically works first shift, Monday-Friday, from 6:45am to 3:15pm.

 

Here is a list of some of the more frequent tasks you could expect to perform during the course of the workday:

 

 

· Resolves product discrepancies, such as incorrect price or case labels and various other product related issues.

· Sorts, scans, and packages accessories for shipment.

· Builds cardboard cartons, affixes labels, and prepares boxes for use in Tilt Tray.

· Unpacks cartons and places individual shoe boxes on powered conveyor.

· Scans and packs individual shoe boxes from Tilt Tray Sorter System into cartons by store location.

 

· Loads merchandise from a conveyor onto a semi-trailer for shipment.

· Unloads merchandise from semi-trailers to a conveyor.

· Reads case labels and then sorts and stacks cases onto pallets or conveyors.

 

 

Regardless of your experience level, please be sure that you meet the following minimum requirements before starting your application:

· Must be at least 18 years of age.

· Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to quickly read, learn, and understand standard operating and safety procedures.

· Ability to make reasonable decisions and count accurately.

· Ability to follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.

· Ability to work overtime including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Ability to work at least 4 weeks and up to 12 weeks in a year.

· Ability to work an 8-hour shift.
